Commissioned Projects

I enjoy the challenge of taking on bespoke, unique commissions that are tailored to the needs of my clients. Here’s a look at a few of my recent projects.

Kumiko cabinet

This bespoke cabinet was made on order using Western Hemlock with Silver Oak and Wenge veneers. Close attention was paid to details, ensuring that the wood and veneer used would highlight the Kumiko, not overpower it in any way. Maintaining the fluid lines and design principles of this cabinet led to some innovative ideas, like the three straight-line sliding Kumiko panels and the unconventional handles.

Wooden purse

This wooden purse was created to Rahi’s specifications. Made in old growth Indian mahogany with a cloth lining, magnetic closure and hand crafted wooden purse clasps. The ceramic tile is Rahi’s creation.

Soap cutter

This bespoke soap cutter {for cold press soaps} was custom made for Zimik Studio using Malaysian hardwood with Douglas Fir for the base, featuring an adjustable stop to cut custom sized soap. The cutter uses a top grade guitar string with guitar keys to adjust the tension strength.

Versatile multi-taskers

Put up your feet and relax after a hard day’s work; place it next to your sofa and show off your latest reads; or pull it out as a serving table for guests – there’s a reason why interior designers the world over love footstools! Our clients seem to agree, too. We’ve shipped multiple orders of this client favorite stool!

Children’s book shelf

Upcycling at its best!

So my two little clients wanted a book shelf in recycled pallet boxes. I couldn’t say no. This was one of the most satisfying projects for me, especially after all the love shown to the book shelf.
